This style shoot for Garnet and Black is centered around the idea of different cultures’ fairy tales and lore. Stories are such a crucial part of each culture’s development and of a person’s origin. They explain why the world is the way it is, teach us about love and loss, and give us something to be inspired by...something to believe in. Kaylen Pritchard and I developed the idea for this shoot and Kylee Strickland styled it. Kaylen, Kylee and I found famous fairytales from multiple different countries and recreated a modern telling of the tales. I wrote an article to go along with this shoot and art directed most of the photographs. Each story had its own photoshoot. For the Yemoja shoot, I climbed into the river with the model to make sure she was fully surrounded by water in the photographs.
